Weeks 3-4 Online Discussion Clarification

Hi all! Your assignment is to look at each of the 6 systems from the "Basic Needs" section. Then, for each system, you must think of 3 examples from your own culture. I don't know how the rumor got started that you only need to write about 3 things, but it isn't true. Also, I'm not asking you to give me a summary of that section. I read the section already, as did you. We know what's written in it. I want you to interact with the material by giving examples from your culture. Here is an example from American culture:

1) Economic System: Wall Street/Stocks, Free Trade/Capitalism, Government help with small businesses

2) Marriage & Family: Civil unions, Justice of the Peace or church weddings, Adoption

3) Educational System: Free public education, Parents can choose private or public education, State Universities

4) Social Control System: Elected sheriffs, Democracy, National Guard

5) Supernatural Belief System: Freedom of religion, New Age, Conservativism

6) Systems of Communication: The English language, Freedom of the press, The role of the media

This took me about 10 minutes to write. This is not designed to be a long assignment. I just want you to think about these 6 systems in your own culture. You don't even need to use full sentences, unless you want to. If anyone who has already written their comment would like to revise anything you've written, please feel free to do so. I won't grade the comments until after class next Friday. I'll see you all then!
